Therapy Barn
Elite’s Therapy Barn was created in 2019 to meet the needs of horses that might need additional daily attention for issues that the owners just do not have time to deal with. Those issues can vary widely from superficial wounds to tendon tears or broken bones and even severe digestive issues.
Benefits of Elite's Therapy Barn
Some of the benefits of the Therapy Barn are daily exercise options of a hot horse walker, equine treadmill or our Aqua Pacer water treadmill. The Aqua Pacer is a unique tool to use especially for leg problems. The water can be adjusted as needed for horses depending on their recovery needs. For those horses that might need more help with respiratory issues or any skin conditions the Salt Therapy Room can be utilized. There is also a Magna Wave technician on staff for those deeper tissue healing needs.
Additional Treatments
A variety of laser lights are used to speed recovery times. There are turn out paddocks for some sunshine and fresh air. The track for the Elite Training Center is also available for those horses that are ready to start driving again. The Elite bloodwork lab can be utilized as needed to track the recovery and overall health of the horses. There is a local Veterinarian that comes on a weekly basis for consulting and any additional medical needs such as x-rays, ultra sounds or surgeries that the horses may have.
Stall Rates, Therapists, & More
So how long do the horses stay at the Therapy Barn? Well, that can range from a few days to weeks or even months. The daily stall rate is $20. Then there would be additional charges for different therapies and supplements or any vet work that might be needed. The depth of the issues is usually what determines the recovery time. Who works with the horses? Adam Yoder is the main equine therapist that works to care for the horses. Adam has been working with horses for over 20 years and has been with Elite Nutrition since 2017. He has had training on Bowen Therapy, Equine Flexion Therapies, Emmett Technique and other similar equine body work courses. He was instrumental with seeing the need for and in the creation of the Therapy Barn from the beginning. He is very knowledgeable on how to use and recommend the supplements. All this experience makes for a perfect addition to the research and development side of the company too.
